Dragon Touchdown Club, in July 2022, funded the purchase of a new 23-foot tall inflatable Dragon head and 18- foot tunnel to replace a 10-year old run-through. The new run-through comes with eyes that light up and nostrils that spew smoke. Upon completion and delivery, the unit was donated to Carroll Athletic Booster Club. CABC works with senior football dads each year to have the run-through at all varsity games, at home and on the road. The unit will also be used at other community events, including Dragon Youth Football activities.
Dragon Touchdown Club in September 2022 provided a grant to Dragon Youth Football to help cover the cost of equipment, including blocking and tackling dummies, sideline tents, footballs, and other items used by the league.
Dragon Touchdown Club, in October 2022, funded the purchase of five custom athlete treatment tables for the athletic training room on the Carroll Senior High campus. These tables are branded with Dragon colors and logo and provide a much more comfortable setting for our Dragon athletes being taped and receiving therapy in the training room.
Dragon Touchdown Club, in October 22, funded the purchase for more energy-efficient and brighter overhead lighting for the Dragon Indoor Facility on the Carroll Senior High Campus. These fixtures replace the original lights that were installed when the indoor was built. The replacement increases the brightness of the lighting from less than 10 footcandles to 80+ footcandles. The indoor facility is used by almost all CISD athletic programs and a number of other student groups.
in June 2023, the Dragon Touchdown Club funded the hiring of a new district wide strength and conditioning coach to work with all sports in CISD in grades 7-12. The funding is for two years and is a non-teaching position dedicated solely to creating and implementing strength and conditioning programs to benefit all CISD athletes. The position was filled June 1 with the hiring of Doug Castleberry.
Dragon Touchdown club in December 2023 funded the renovation of the weight rooms at Dawson Middle School and Carroll Middle School. The renovations include new flooring, equipment, and pain, greatly increasing the functionality and safety of the facilities. Programming of the weight rooms will be coordinate by Coach Doug Castleberry, CISD’s Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
